As of 2018-2019 academic year, there are 168 schools, 3 of which are private and 165 of which are official, at the primary and secondary level throughout the province. In these schools, including pre-school education, there are 49,240 students and 2,169 teachers and 1,590 classrooms. Per classroom number of students in primary education there are 29, secondary education 22 and in vocational and technical education 16 students, respectively.
Kilis 7 December University was founded in 28 May 2007 and has 8 faculties, including, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Health and Faculty of Applied Sciences; and has 3 institutes, including Institute of Social Sciences, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences and Institute of Health Sciences and four high schools including Vocational School of Health Services, School of Physical Education and Sports (BESYO), Vocational School of Technical Sciences, Vocational School of Social Sciences, Vocational School of Tourism and Hotel Management and School of Foreign Languages. As of 2018-2019 academic year, at the University of Kilis December 7, a total of 376 academic person, 205 administrative staff are working, 8,900 students are studying. University is an important factor for the province to meet the demand for skilled labour.
