There are 4 universities in Gaziantep, two of which are private and two are state. These universities, with their institutional structures (Technoparks, TEKMER, Science, Technology and Research Center, GAP Research and Application Center, Sustainable Environment Research and Application Center, Continuing Education Center, Industry Cooperation Center, Nanotechnology Research Center and Middle East Strategic Research Center etc.) and with its curriculum, it is able to respond to the city's industry, agriculture, trade and tourism needs. These universities lead other universities in the region in terms of university-industry cooperation. Currently, more than 40,000 students pursue their higher education in Gaziantep, and because of its proximity to the Middle East, more than 1,000 of these students are internationals. In addition, vocational programs for various sectors are implemented with the Vocational School within the OIZ. Students who graduate from here meet the need for intermediate staff in the industry.
